Manual Backups

Create an on-demand backup from the dashboard whenever needed.

Log Viewer

Open BackupRidge → Logs to inspect per-job logs and troubleshoot issues.

Scheduled Backups

Configure Hourly, every 2/4/6/8/12 hours, Daily, Weekly, Fortnightly, or Monthly schedules.

Keyboard Shortcuts

  • Ctrl+K / ⌘+K — Open the command palette (jump to pages and actions).
  • ? (Shift+/ on US layouts) — Open the keyboard shortcuts dialog on the Dashboard.
  • Ctrl+S / ⌘+S — Save Settings when the form has unsaved changes (ignored while typing in a field).
  • J / K — Move up/down in the Logs file list when that list is focused.

Advanced Scheduling Pro

Pro supports multiple independent schedules and per-schedule settings override values.

Incremental Backups Pro

Incremental mode captures only changed files for faster backups.

Pro can run SHA-256 integrity checks across archive parts after backup completion.

What Gets Backed Up

You can include or exclude these components per backup:

  • Database — Full MySQL/MariaDB export (with optional table exclusions).
  • Themes — wp-content/themes/.
  • Plugins — wp-content/plugins/.
  • Uploads — wp-content/uploads/.
  • Other wp-content — Remaining files under wp-content/ not covered above (e.g. languages).
  • Must-use plugins — wp-content/mu-plugins/ when selected.
  • WordPress core — Core files under the WordPress root when selected.

Multi-Part Downloads

Large archives split into multiple numbered parts; use Download All to fetch complete sets.

Update-screen backup reminder

When no backup has been completed in the last 24 hours, BackupRidge can show a notice on WordPress Plugins and Dashboard → Updates screens to remind you before you run core or plugin updates.

Host environment in backups

Each backup records a non-sensitive host environment snapshot in the job manifest (PHP version, WordPress version, active plugins/theme, table prefix, and similar). This helps when restoring or debugging on a different server.

Retention Policies

Keep the latest N backups and automatically prune older archives.
