Terms of Lifetime

This document covers BackupRidge Pro Lifetime Licenses (the founder deal). It supersedes v1.0, which limited coverage to the 1.x line — all existing lifetime licenses, including ones purchased under v1.0, are automatically upgraded to these broader terms. For everything else, see our regular Terms of Service.

In short: your lifetime license covers every version of BackupRidge Pro we ever release — including future major versions — with updates and support included, for the number of sites on your tier, for as long as the product exists. It’s yours for life; it’s not resellable as a product; and if the product is ever discontinued or changes hands, these terms say exactly what happens. The summary above isn’t a substitute for the terms below, but they’re written to say the same thing.

1. Definitions

• “Product” — BackupRidge Pro, the premium WordPress plugin published by Stava Tech (“we”, “us”), including all successor versions of the same product regardless of version number.
• “Lifetime License” — a one-time-purchase license granting the rights in these terms for the Lifetime of the Product.
• “Lifetime of the Product” — the period during which the Product is actively developed, maintained, or offered for sale by us or a successor.
• “Site” — a single WordPress installation (one database). A multisite network counts as one Site per subsite: each subsite in the network draws one Site from your tier’s allowance.

2. What your Lifetime License includes

• All versions. Every update and every release of the Product — minor, major, and future major versions (e.g. 2.x, 3.x) — at no additional cost. Version numbering never limits your license.
• All Pro features of your tier. Features included in your tier at purchase remain included. New features we add to your tier are included. We may introduce new, separately-sold products or add-ons that are not part of the Product; those are not included.
• Updates delivered through the standard update mechanism for the Lifetime of the Product.
• Support — the same support channel and priority as active subscribers of the equivalent tier, subject to fair use (§5).
• Site allowance per your tier (Founder Personal: 3 sites; Founder Agency: 25 sites). You may deactivate the license on one site and activate it on another at any time.

3. What it does not include

• Resale, sublicensing, or distribution of the license or license keys as a product or service.
• Separately-sold future products or add-ons outside the Product (§2).
• White-labeling or offering the Product as your own hosted service, unless separately agreed.

4. Transfer

• Between your own sites: unlimited, self-service.
• Ownership transfer: one (1) transfer of the license to a new owner is permitted — for example, when selling a website or business that uses it — by notifying us through our contact form with both parties’ details. Further transfers require our written consent (not unreasonably withheld).
• Licenses may not be transferred as part of any resale of license keys as a product.

5. Fair use of support

Support is intended for the license holder’s own use of the Product on licensed sites. We may limit support that is disproportionate to ordinary use (e.g. using one license’s support channel to service many third-party clients beyond the site allowance). We will always say so before limiting anything.

6. If the Product is discontinued

We have no plans to discontinue BackupRidge Pro. If it ever happens:

• We will give at least six (6) months’ notice via email and the Product website.
• Your installed version continues to function; license activation for already-purchased licenses will not be disabled during the notice period, and we will make a final version available that does not require our activation servers, where technically feasible.
• No refunds are owed for discontinuation occurring more than 24 months after your purchase; earlier discontinuation entitles you to a pro-rated refund against a 24-month reference period.
• Discontinuation of sales to new customers does not affect existing Lifetime Licenses so long as the Product is maintained.

7. If the Product or company changes hands

If the Product or Stava Tech is acquired, merged, or the Product is sold to another party, these terms bind the successor: existing Lifetime Licenses must be honored on equivalent terms, or the successor must offer affected holders equivalent value (e.g. an equivalent license to a successor product). We will contractually require this in any sale.

8. Your obligations

• One license key per purchase; keep it confidential.
• Use within your site allowance and these terms.
• We may terminate a license for material breach (e.g. key resale, abuse) after notice and a 14-day cure period where curable.

9. Refunds

14-day money-back guarantee from the purchase date, no questions asked. After 14 days, purchases are final except as provided in §6.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms only in ways that do not reduce the substance of what you purchased (§2). Any change reducing your rights requires your consent or grandfathering under the prior terms. The version history of this document is public on our changelog.

11. The boring-but-necessary part

These terms are governed by the laws of Norway. Nothing here limits mandatory consumer rights in your jurisdiction. If any clause is found unenforceable, the rest stand. Questions? Use our contact form.

Founder licenses purchased under this document are additionally covered by our public commitment: the Founder Floor — no future promotion will ever offer better terms than the founder deal.
