Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of BackupRidge. By installing or using BackupRidge, you agree to these terms. BackupRidge is provided by Stava Tech, Norway.

1. The Free Plugin

Distributed via backupridge.com and WordPress.org under GPL v2+. Free to use, modify, and redistribute.

2. Pro Licenses

BackupRidge Pro is sold as a monthly or annual subscription in three tiers. Personal: up to 3 sites. Business: up to 10 sites. Agency: unlimited sites. Code is GPL v2+.

A “site” is a single WordPress installation (one database); each subsite in a multisite network counts as one site.

Founder lifetime licenses (one-time purchase) are governed by our Terms of Lifetime, which control for those purchases; these terms apply to everything the Terms of Lifetime don’t cover.

3. License Transfers

  • Between your own sites: unlimited, self-service — deactivate on one site and activate on another at any time.
  • Ownership transfer: one (1) transfer to a new owner is permitted — for example, when selling a website or business that uses it — by notifying us through our contact form with both parties’ details. Further transfers require our written consent (not unreasonably withheld).
  • Resale, sublicensing, or distribution of license keys as a product or service is not permitted.

4. Payment and Billing

Purchases are handled by LemonSqueezy, our merchant of record — the reseller you buy from, which also handles VAT and sales tax. Its terms apply to the purchase transaction.

Subscriptions auto-renew each billing period (monthly or annual) until cancelled. Cancel anytime from the billing portal linked in your purchase receipt, or via our contact form. Cancelling stops future charges; your license stays active until the end of the paid period.

5. Refund Policy

14-day money-back guarantee on every charge — initial purchases and renewals alike. Submit a refund request through our contact form within 14 days of the charge for a full refund of that charge. This is in addition to, and does not limit, any statutory withdrawal or refund rights in your jurisdiction.

6. When a Subscription Ends

When your subscription expires or is cancelled, Pro features, updates, and Pro support stop. The free plugin keeps working, and your existing backups remain yours and stay restorable — we never hold your data.

7. Support

Free: via contact form. Personal and Business: 48hr email. Agency: 24hr email. Response times are business-day targets, not guaranteed SLAs. Covers plugin functionality and troubleshooting.

8. Your Responsibilities

  • You are responsible for your backups — BackupRidge is a tool, not a guarantee.
  • You are responsible for your hosting environment and resources.
  • Keep your license key confidential.

9. Third-Party Services and Privacy

Backups you send to third-party storage (Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive, Amazon S3, Backblaze B2, and others) are governed by your own agreement with that provider; we are not responsible for their availability or your accounts with them. 10. Termination

We may terminate a license for material breach of these terms (for example, key resale or abuse) after notice and a 14-day cure period where the breach is curable. You can stop using BackupRidge at any time.

11. Limitation of Liability

Provided “as is”. Total liability capped at the amount paid in the preceding 12 months. Norwegian law applies; nothing limits liability for fraud or gross negligence.

12. Intellectual Property

BackupRidge name and logo are trademarks of Stava Tech. Plugin code is GPL v2+. Website content is copyrighted.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms; the “last updated” date above always reflects the current version. Material changes will be announced on this page before they take effect. Continued use after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance.

14. Governing Law

Norwegian law. Disputes resolved in Norwegian courts, subject to consumer protection rights in your country of residence. If any clause is found unenforceable, the rest stand.
